Mikaela Shiffrin shared her take on the viral hype of her and media personality Kylie Kelce looking like twins amid the 2026 Winter Olympics. The skier recently proved her prowess by ending her eight-year Olympic drought.
The start of the Milan-Cortina was a bit shaky for Shiffrin, as she fell short of securing a podium finish in both the team and Giant Slalom events. However, the American made a comeback in the slalom final, where she won her first Olympic medal after eight years.
Securing a combined time of 1:39.10 after two runs, she stood atop the podium. While she was being celebrated for her win, another thing that made her viral on the internet was her similarity with Kelce, who is the host of the podcast ‘Not Gonna Lie (NGL).’ Multiple pictures and videos made rounds all over the internet, claiming that they are twins.
Sharing one such post on her Instagram story, Shiffrin responded to the comparison with a sweet message that read:
“NGL…. this is the best compliment I’ve gotten in a while!! @nglwithkylie @kykelce.”

Apart from the slalom event, Shiffrin also competed in the combined team event, where she and her fellow athlete Breezy Johnson secured the fourth position. Later, she ended up in 11th place in the Giant Slalom final at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
What did Mikaela Shiffrin say about her father’s death after winning a gold medal at Milan-Cortina?
After making a solid comeback in the slalom event at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Mikaela Shiffrin addressed the media, where she discussed the details of her performance. In addition to this, she also opened up about her father, Jeff Shiffrin’s death.
In an emotional confession, she said that this is the moment when she has accepted his death for the first time. Opening up about how she once dreamt of this moment, she said:
“This was a moment I have dreamed about. I’ve also been very scared of this moment. Everything in life that you do after you lose someone you love is like a new experience. It’s like being born again, and I still have so many moments where I resist this. I don’t want to be in life without my dad. Maybe today was the first time I could actually accept this reality. And instead of thinking I would be going in this moment without him, to take the moment to be silent with him,” said Mikaela Shiffrin.
Mikaela Shiffrin received a heartfelt message from her fiancé, Aleksander Kilde, after winning the gold medal at Milan-Cortina.
