Coco Gauff’s Uncertain Future in the Upcoming Miami Opens
Since dealing with an injury, Coco Gauff’s participation in the upcoming game remains uncertain. The tennis star had an unfortunate setback with her left arm during a match against Filipina player Alex Eala, where she constantly had to take medical breaks due to the persistent ache.
Ultimately, this led her to retire mid-match, sending fans and analysts into a frenzy of disbelief and concern. Many took to social media to wish the tennis star a speedy recovery, while sports analysts kept a close eye on her medical updates.
While Gauff hasn’t ruled out competing at the Miami Open, she shared updates on her current condition on and off through her social media status, but nothing official has followed up since.
At 15, Gauff made her professional debut at the 2019 Miami Open as part of the WTA tour. Walking up the ranks, she then went on to beat Venus Williams and finally landed in the 2019 Linz Open and won her first WTA singles title. Gauff has achieved impressive rankings in both singles and doubles on the WTA tour.
Gauff has been the reigning contender in every major championship and consistently displayed remarkable prowess on the court. She had won multiple singles titles and also secured two Grand Slam wins.
The Miami Open is scheduled to take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami from March 17 to 28 and will feature previous winners and debutants.
