Michael Phelps has spoken highly of the impact of mental health in today’s world and has personally devoted a considerable amount of time to helping break the stigma that once held him hostage. Phelps’ advocacy has now reached the hearts of millions, and during an interview, the Olympian spoke about how much it means when someone walks up to him and commends him for having indirectly affected their life for good.
“It’s wild, and for me, that’s better than winning an Olympic gold medal. There’s nothing you can say that’s better than that. Giving somebody a chance to live their authentic self and live life how they should,” he said (0:09).
