Maisie Boesiger has already built a reputation as a steady and determined presence for Nebraska volleyball. But beyond her skills as a libero and her contributions on the court, the Huskers star is discovering a deeper purpose, using her platform to inspire the next generation of athletes.
While the focus for most college players remains on matches, training sessions, and championships, Boesiger has realized that her influence stretches far beyond wins and losses. Young fans, especially aspiring volleyball players, look up to her not just for how she plays but also for how she carries herself.
Recently, in an interview with Huurdat Sports, the Nebraska athlete opened up about the impact she hopes to make and the importance of spreading positivity to the younger generation.
“I feel like some of the ways that I’ve made an impact is talking about positivity because I’ve had a lot of questions from young girls. How do you stay so positive even when that is happening? And I’ve loved it because, like, yes, that I am a very positive person in general, but I’ve loved being able to share with them how I am so positive and what kind of grounds me in that. And just seeing the glass half full instead of half empty is truly such a big deal. And I’ve loved being able to share that with them.”
At Nebraska, Maisie Boesiger is one of the most prominent athletes and has proven her worth on the team with her significant performances. She recently capped off her time on the Nebraska volleyball team after the 2025 NCAA season. After a perfect season, the team lost to Texas A&M in the regional final.
Maisie Boesiger reveals her first Nebraska volleyball memory
In the aforementioned interview, Maisie Boesiger opened up about her first Nebraska volleyball memory. Long before she ever suited up in the iconic red jersey, before she became a familiar face on the Nebraska volleyball court, she was just a young fan walking into a Husker match with wide-eyed wonder.
Now a key member of the program, she reflected on the moment that first made her fall in love with Nebraska volleyball. Sharing the anecdote, she said:
“Gosh, so many. I remember when I went to the first game, I went there with my dad, and we had gotten to the game a little bit after I had already started, and we were walking in, and the crowd just roared. They just lost their minds. And I looked up my dad, and I was in aux. I hadn’t even seen the gym yet. And I was like, whoa, like, where are we?” said Maisie Boesiger.
She added:
“We got down there, and we watched a few points, and after a while I looked at him, and I asked him, well, what do you have to do to play here? I thought it was just the coolest thing that I’ve ever seen because I grew up in the gym. My mom coached at Norris, so I was used to Norris High School games. And Norris is great. I loved it, but it’s obviously no atmosphere compared to Nebraska.”
Maisie Boesiger joined the Huskers program in 2022 and enjoyed an illustrious career till the 2025 NCAA season.
