“I Will Take Them All Out” – Kennedy Blades’ Bold Response About Competing vs MMA Icons Ronda Rousey, Kayla Harrison

Kennedy Blades shared her thoughts on what would transpire if she squared off against MMA icons Ronda Rousey or Kayla Harrison. The Olympic silver medalist showed extreme optimism about the aftermath of facing any of them and vowed victory.

During the RAF 07 event this past week, Blades faced the Russian MMA fighter Milana Dudieva and garnered victory by scoring a whopping 11-0, retaining her middleweight title.

After the fight, the 22-year-old spoke about the win and also reacted to the idea of getting an opportunity for a bout against Ronda Rousey and Kayla Harrison. Blades quickly showed excitement at the possibility of something like that happening.

“That would be fun, let’s do it. Kayla is an Olympic champion in judo, I’m an Olympic silver, and she would be stepping into my world, but throws are basically Greco, let’s do it, let’s see what she says,” she said.

Blades further showed extreme confidence and spoke about how impactful it would be to the world of wrestling.

” That would be fun too, let’s just grow the sport, I’m ready to take on the challenge, I’m a big girl so I can either cut go up or go down and yeah, let’s do these big names and I will take them all out,” she said.

Many on social media also reacted to the possibility of such a bout and gave mixed reactions on the outcome. Rousey and Harrison, however, haven’t yet commented on the challenge.

Kennedy Blades Wins her First NCAA Title

Kennedy Baldes made an unusual switch back to collegiate athletics after winning her Olympic silver medal back in the 2024 Paris Olympics and went on to win her first NCAA title. Reflecting on her win against Tiffani Baublitz via pinfall, Blades spoke about choosing a walkout song to pump her up for the bout, alongside thanking her faith in the Almighty.

“I picked the song for feeling happy and smiling, and wanted to showcase myself as such, as I am in the NCAA finals, and I knew that we needed bonus points, and I just asked the Lord how he needed me to showcase my wrestling, attack, pin, whatever and I ended up getting the win, thank god, and I’m just happy,” she said (0:57).

She also spoke about how her positive optimism before the finals helped her psyche up in the right mindset and reminded her why she came to Iowa in the first place.
