Heartwarming Moment As Jordan Chiles and UCLA Sprint To Celebrate With Minnesota After Both Hit NCAA Elite 8

Jordan Chiles recently shared a heartwarming moment with the Minnesota Gymnastics athletes after the latter and the UCLA team earned a spot to compete at the National Championship 2026.

The No. 12 Utah, No. 13 Minnesota, No. 4 UCLA, and No. 5 Alabama gymnastics teams competed against each other in the final round of the Corvallis Regional on Sunday.

The Corvallis Regional final was dominated by the UCLA squad, which recorded 197.725 points. They were followed by Minnesota (197.625), Utah (197.500), and Alabama (197.175).

The UCLA squad posted 49.350, 49.400, 49.350, 49.625 in vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor events, respectively. Minnesota settled in second place after scoring 49.375, 49.275, 49.525, and 49.450 in vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor events, respectively.

While UCLA has clinched the spot at the Championships after finishing as runners-up in the last championships, Minnesota has entered the run for the first time since 2022. As the top two teams secured their spots in the Elite 8 round, Chiles was seen running towards the Minnesota team and hugging the Gophers. She was followed by her teammates, after which both teams were seen celebrating together.

Chiles gathered 39.750 points in all-around on Sunday after recording a perfect score in the floor event.

Jordan Chiles Takes A Jab At Oregon State University For Hosting NCAA Regional Events With Substandard Conditions

Following Sunday’s Corvallis Regional final hosted by Oregon State at the Gill Coliseum, Jordan Chiles took a jab at the management. She highlighted that there were no adequate arrangements made to control the heat. She also mentioned hearing her teammate complain about an injury due to poor conditions.

“I’m sorry but OSU should legit not be allowed to host regionals again until they can figure out the heat situation in Gill. There are athletes with ice on the top of their head and back of their necks and coaches with short sleeves rolled into tank tops because of the temperature,” she tweeted.
“Mind you this is all during warmups when the girls are in short sleeve leos,” she added. “Ciena said something in Clay’s vlog about cramping on Friday because of it. I’m kinda baffled there was no attempt to bring in fans or anything between Friday and today.”
Alongside UCLA, the LSU, Stanford, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, and Arkansas squads have advanced to the national semifinals that will be held at Dickies Arena on April 16.
