Jordan Chiles reigned as the No. 1 all-around gymnast at the 2026 NCAA gymnastics championships since the beginning of the event. Her streak has now been broken by LSU’s Kailin Chio, who has taken over the top spot. Reacting to this, the Olympian dropped a sweet comment, congratulating her opponent.
In the first eight weeks of the NCAA championships, Chiles held the No. 1 position for all-arounder in the nation. However, Chio dethroned the Olympian after her latest outing on March 1 against Arizona. During this clash, the Tigers claimed a win, registering a score of 198.200 at the Raising Cane’s River Center.
Chio dominated the showdown, posting a perfect score, marking her fourth meet with a perfect 10 and third consecutive on beam. Her first two perfect scores on beam were against No. 3 Alabama and No. 1 Oklahoma. With the performance, she ended the week by becoming the new No. 1 all-arounder in the nation with a 39.725 national qualifying score, surpassing Chiles’ 39.710.
The feat garnered Chile’s attention, who reposted Gymnastics Now’s post on her Instagram story, congratulating the LSU gymnast for the achievement. She wrote:
