Jordan Chiles reacted to a picture from her childhood while gearing up for the UCLA Gymnastics team’s faceoff with No. 12 Utah for the senior night. The match will be held at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, March 14.
Chiles is currently competing in her senior year at UCLA Bruins, where she has earned six perfect tens on bars.
Chiles started her gymnastics career at the age of six. She would cartwheel and walk on her hands. After she joined the recreational gymnastics class at six, the Olympic medalist was asked to try out for the pre-team (after just one class). The gymnast, named after legendary basketball player Michael Jordan, joined the National Team in 2013 at age 12. In 2017, she made her debut as a senior.
Ahead of the gymnast’s next appearance on the collegiate circuit, Chiles shared a picture from her childhood, in which she can be seen donning a purple leotard and her signature hairstyle.
“How it all started….just crying right now,” Chiles wrote, adding a teary-eye emoji.

After nearly quitting gymnastics in 2018, Chiles moved to Spring, Texas, to train at World Champions Centre under coaches Laurent and Cecile Landi alongside her Olympic teammate Simone Biles.
Jordan Chiles Opened Up On Winning The Big Four Meet Along With Her UCLA Teammates
Jordan Chiles opened up about winning the Big Four Meet with her UCLA Bruins teammates on February 27 at the Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins posted 196.950 points to defeat No. 18 Iowa (196.475), No. 19 Ohio State (196.425), and No. 25 Maryland (195.025).
In a media interview, she expressed her joy and highlighted her teammates’ hard work, saying:
“It honestly means a lot. The girls have been working really, really hard in the gym, and just being able to come out here and do our job just as best as we could, I think that’s the biggest thing. The trophy means everything to us, and we are just going to go hard and just keep working.”
This marked the team’s second straight Big Ten regular season title with a perfect 9-0 record. This is also UCLA’s 23rd all-time conference title. Chiles dominated the all-around event with 39.625 points.
