Harper Murray revealed why there were no transfers in the Nebraska volleyball team after John Cook retired
John Cook retired from the Nebraska volleyball team after completing 25 years as a coach following the 2024 NCAA volleyball season. Suggested by him, Dani Busboom Kelly took over his position by the end of January 2025. One of the most notable things during this period was that there were no transfers from the team after Cook retired.
Harper Murray revealed the reason behind why no players left during a conversation with Hail Varsity. Highlighting how the former coach created the environment of the team and trusting his choice with Busboom Kelly, she said:
“I feel like that attests to the culture and the tradition that John built over the past 24, 25 years. I feel like we all trust him to replace him with someone like Dani, and we all trusted that he would put someone in his position to make us successful, and we all knew that Dani would be able to do that, and I also think Dani has an amazing reputation in the volleyball world,” said Harper Murray.
She added:
“She’s done so much at Louisville, and we all saw that happen, like we’ve played Louisville in the past. We’ve seen what she’s been able to do with their program, so I think it was easy for us to trust that she’d be able to bring us success too.”
Harper Murray and the Nebraska volleyball team will next be seen competing against Southern Miss on March 6 at the Sun Devil Beach Volleyball Facility.
