Arkansas Gymnastics head coach Jordyn Wieber Brooks clarified a statement after the Minnesota Gymnastics team took a swipe at her. Ahead of her team’s appearance at the NCAA Championships semifinal, Brooks sat for an interview with Pig Trail Nation.
She led the program to the next round after the Hogs collected 197.450 points in the final round of the Lexington Regional. They placed second behind Oklahoma, which posted 198.350 points. Along with Arkansas and Oklahoma, UCLA and Minnesota will lock horns in the second semifinal. Ahead of the highly anticipated faceoff, a statement from the interview, where Coach Wieber Brooks expressed her opinion about competing against UCLA and Oklahoma, drew a subtle dig from Minnesota.
“If we show up at our best, there’ absolutely no reason why we can’t compete with UCLA or Oklahoma,” coach Wieber Brooks said.
To this, Gophers gymnastics replied:
“I guess we don’t exit huh.”
The head coach later explained that the statement was an outcome of the specific question asked by the interviewer, only about UCLA and Oklahoma.
“Lol, no disrespect @gopherwgym! You guys are AMAZING! The reporter specifically asked me about the other two teams, so I was just responding to the question ❤️,” Coach Wieber Brooks clarified.

Arkansas and Minnesota previously competed in the season on January 10, where the latter team dominated. The 2026 NCAA National semifinal is slated for Thursday, April 16, at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
