Olympic figure skater Alysa Liu was in complete awe when she came across an emote released by Fortnite that brought a digital version of herself to life, mimicking the exact choreography of the Olympian’s “Stateside” routine. Her reaction to the Epic Games’ creation was one full of delight, as Liu herself has declared her love for the gaming culture several times.
Alysa Liu stole the spotlight at this year’s Milan-Cortina Games, where she became the first US women’s skating gold medalist in more than 20 years. In the team event, Liu bagged the third position by securing 76.59 points, which greatly helped her team share the winners’ podium.
Since then, Liu has made multiple appearances, performing her signature routines, including performing to “Stateside” by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson at an exhibition gala. Inspired by her recent endeavors, Epic Games’ Fortnite released a Stateside emote of the Olympic champion, where the emote can be seen recreating some of her well-known signature figure skating moves against the backdrop of PinkPantheress, which left Liu with excitement and delight.
“Oh it’s so cute, and she has skates,” said Liu.
Fortnite had released a similar stateside emote back on April 30th, where Liu’s prototype can be seen donning blue attire, mimicking her gala performance while perfectly recreating her dance moves. The emote is available now for 500 V-Bucks.
