“Zero Impulse Control”: Analyst Puts Brandon Aiyuk On Blast After WR Publicly Calls Out Jayden Daniels

Brandon Aiyuk has been lobbying for a trade to the Washington Commanders for the better part of the offseason after accusing the 49ers of wronging him and not fulfilling their end of the $120,000,000 contract he signed in 2024.

With several social media posts essentially declaring that he won’t be a part of the 49ers organization any longer and telling Commanders fans to book their tickets to see him “on tour” with the team, Aiyuk has now taken aim at Commanders star Jayden Daniels. He called the quarterback a “momma’s boy” and unfollowed him on Instagram.

49ers reporter Grant Cohn took the opportunity to call the 28-year-old out for his attitude toward Daniels, which could possibly burn bridges between his potential future team before the trade even materializes. Cohn said in a post on X (formerly Twitter):

“I’ve never seen someone talk themselves out of the league when all they had to do was be quiet for like three weeks. I’ve never seen a professional athlete who’s almost 30 years old have zero impulse control. But it is funny. Sure, his NFL career most likely is over.”

Cohn also didn’t hold back on a possible future career path for Aiyuk if no team decides to take a chance on him after a summer full of social media posts alienating himself from Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch, and the 49ers. The reporter said:

“I think his directorial career is just getting started, and I think he has a lot of potential as a one-man band. He’s an actor, he’s a writer, he’s a director. He’s just not a football player anymore.”

Jayden Daniels Seemingly Shuts Down Possibility Of A Brandon Aiyuk Trade

While Daniels had no initial reaction to Aiyuk openly campaigning to join the Commanders, a fan interaction at the FIFA World Cup going viral led to a reaction from the 49ers receiver.

Aiyuk made it clear that if he were traded to the Commanders, he would be the face of the franchise, and Daniels would have to stop “running behind your momma.”

While Daniels’ response was not as direct as Aiyuk’s, the Commanders quarterback responded with a meme of Kevin Durant giving a thumbs down to the camera, seemingly closing the door on the possibility of the team ever trading for Aiyuk.

Although the 49ers voided the guarantees in Aiyuk’s contract back in 2025 for “not meeting the previous requirements of the deal,” the 28-year-old is under contract with the 49ers till 2028.

The Commanders, on the other hand, will be leaning on Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, Luke McCaffrey, and Antonio Williams as offensive weapons for Daniels.
