The New York Jets have been one of the worst teams in football in the last 5-10 years.
Last year, in head coach Aaron Glenn’s first season as the team’s head coach, the Jets went 3-14 and finished last in the AFC East division. It was the sixth season in a row that the Jets lost 10+ games.
The Jets decided to retain Glenn for the 2026-2027 season. With two first round picks and the fourth-most cap space (around $79 million), the Jets are excepted to make many moves this offseason to help shape up their roster for the upcoming season.
The Jets have a large number of free agents and will have to decide who they will retain and let walk in free agency.
Here’s a list of the Jets’ notable pending unrestricted free agents this offseason:
-Safety, Andre Cisco
-LB Quincy Williams
-QB Tyrod Taylor
-G John Simpson
-G Alijah Vera-Tucker
-FS Tony Adams
-K Nick Folk
-WR Josh Reynolds
-S Isaiah Oliver
-RB Breece Hall
-WR John Metchie
-CB Kris Boyd
-RB Kene Nwangwu
-RB Khalil Herbert
-RT Chukwuma Okorafor
Who Should The Jets Prioritize Bringing Back In Free Agency?
The New York Jets have a total of 24 unrestricted free agents set to hit the open market next month.
Here’s a few of their own free agents that they should prioritize bringing back:
-RB Breece Hall
Running back Breece Hall has been one of the bright pieces on the Jets’ roster the last few years. He rushed for a career-high 1,065 yards last season and averaged 4.4 yards per carry. That’s a ton of production the Jets would lose on offense if he signed elsewhere.
-LB Quincy Williams
Quincy Williams played in just 13 games last season, but recorded 100+ tackles for the Jets in the previous four seasons. Williams was selected as an All-Pro in 2023. He’s been a focal point of the team’s defense the last five years.
-G Alijah Vera-Tucker
Alijah Vera-Tucker missed all of the 2025-2026 season with a torn triceps injury. Given that he missed the whole season due to injury in a contract year, the Jets can probably re-sign him for cheaper. He was drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
