Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was hired by the San Francisco 49ers as a personnel executive in their front office. 49ers general manager John Lynch announced the hiring at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Tuesday. He has been associated with the Minnesota Vikings as their general manager since 2022.

Who Is Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s Wife?
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has been married to Chelsea Keaulani Adofo-Mensah (née Brown) since 2022. His wife is a designer, author, and former UX researcher with previous experience at YouTube and Google.
The couple is parents to two sons. They welcomed Duke Kalei Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in August 2024 and Weston in 2025. Duke’s name reflects both parents’ heritages: “Kalei” means beloved in Hawaiian, and “Kwesi” reflects the Ghanaian tradition for boys born on a Sunday.
Chelsea was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, grew up in Silicon Valley, and studied at the University of California, Berkeley. She completed her degree there in Media, Marketing & Entertainment Management in 2013.
During her time in college, she interned with the front office of the Golden State Warriors in 2012. After graduating, she took the role of User Research at Gametime United in the Bay Area. After over three years, she was hired by Looker as a User Experience Researcher in Nov. 2017.
She found herself with YouTube in another three years as Senior User Experience Researcher. From March 2020 onwards, she started working at Google in a similar role in Minnesota. Since this past August, she has no longer been working with Google and is currently the Creative Director of Chelsea Keaulani, a clothing brand of hers.
She has also authored a children’s book by the name “The Little Wahine.”
Who Are Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s Parents and Siblings?
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was born to Emma and Daniel Adofo-Mensah. His mother, Emma, is an immigrant from Ghana who worked as an executive administrator and a teacher’s aide. Meanwhile, the 49ers executive’s father, a dentist, died in 2014.
Both his parents came to the United States from Ghana before he was born. Kwesi grew up embracing his Ghanaian heritage in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Kwesi has an older brother named JoJo, who graduated from Dartmouth and has worked in finance. His younger sister Ku worked in digital consulting in New York.
