Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is breaking his engagement with Sarah Jane Ramos. The couple has been dating since September 2023, and they got engaged in October 2024. They were set to get married in a week in Italy.
While there has been no confirmation of what led to the divorce, some reports point to the fact that Jane Ramos disagreed with the idea of signing a prenup agreement. That’s according to reality TV star Ashley Hollis, who wrote on X:
“I’m sorry I’m team #Dakprescott he absolutely is right to ask for a prenup. She is a bartender and he is worth $90 million and just signed a $240 million contract extension!! I hope he doesn’t marry her without one, sorry! You drive a car and get car insurance “just in case” right?”
The couple has two kids together, daughters Margaret Jane Rose, 2, and Aurora Rayne, 9 months. According to Jane Ramos, parenthood brought her and Prescott closer together. She said so in an interview with Sports Illustrated in December 2024:
“Obviously, parenting brings a new element to your relationship because it’s not about you two anymore, the priority is your child,” she told the outlet. “[Parenthood] makes you understand your partner on such a deeper, emotional level, and it’s definitely brought us even closer.”
Email to guests of the cancelled wedding
Recent reports show an email the now former couple sent to the guests of their now cancelled wedding in Lake Como, Italy. The email reads as follows:
“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday April 10, 2026. It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”
The Couple’s Statement on Why They Decided to Break Off Their Marriage
The couple released a statement on their decision to break off their engagement through a representative. The couple doesn’t speak of any friction between them that led to the decision, and the representative just said they did so out of mutual agreement and that they remain focused on their children:
“Both (are) heartbroken that they’re not getting married.” Despite previous reports, the rep adds, “There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up. It was a mutual decision.”
“They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way,” adds Ramos’ rep. “It’s still shocking for them since this happened so recently, and they ask for privacy while they sort everything out.”
The real reason for their breakup will probably remain with them for the time being.
