When Is Tom Brady Eligible For Hall Of Fame? Terrell Owens Makes Bold Claim On 7x SB Winner’s Induction

Tom Brady retired from football in February 2023 after arguably the most legendary career ever by a quarterback. In his 23-season run in the NFL, Brady won more titles than every other player and franchise in the league.

After retirement, Brady has started working on a career in broadcasting. The next big moment related to football in Brady’s life would be his Hall of Fame induction.

Brady will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2028. As the greatest quarterback to ever play the game, the seven-time Super Bowl winner would be a first ballot Hall of Famer. However, some recent events have made fans question whether Brady will receive that honor or not.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft and former head coach Bill Belichick were denied the first ballot Hall of Fame honor in the 2026 induction class. After that, Terrell Owens stated that Brady shouldn’t get that honor either.

When Stephen A. Smith was asked to comment on it, he disagreed. SAS stated that just because Kraft and Belichick were snubbed doesn’t mean Brady should be treated unfairly as well.

“There is no excuse to leave Tom Brady out. Two wrongs don’t make a right. If Bill Belichick gets snubbed, that doesn’t mean you snub Tom Brady. It means you recognize the fact that you should’ve never snubbed Bill Belichick. You should’ve never snubbed owner Robert Kraft,” he said.

SAS made a compelling case for Kraft and Belichick as two people who deserved to be in the 2026 induction class. And if Brady ends up getting the same unfair treatment, then “you might as well burn the Hall of Fame house down.”

Considering the backlash that the voters and Hall of Fame faced for snubbing Belichick, it’s highly unlikely they’ll make the same mistake again in 2028.

Tom Brady on Bill Belichick HOF Snub

The entire football community came together to support Belichick when Belichick didn’t receive enough votes to be a first ballot Hall of Famer. Fans, players, and analysts were left scratching their heads trying to figure out why Belichick didn’t get the votes.

Amid all the chaos, Brady, who has had a rocky relationship with his former coach, showed support for Belichick.

“I don’t believe that any coach in the history of the game has done more to earn his place in the Hall of Fame than Bill Belichick. To say that he was my greatest coaching influence would be an understatement,” he said.

As per Brady, if Belichick didn’t deserve to be a first ballot Hall of Fame coach, then there should never be another coach who gets that nod.
