“Dude Should Be Ring Chasing”: Fans React as Saints Re-Sign Eight-Time Pro Bowler Cam Jordan

The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a familiar face back to the franchise.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Saints are finalizing a one-year deal with veteran defensive end Cam Jordan. The move ensures that the eight-time Pro Bowler will return to New Orleans for his 16th season. He is the franchise’s all-time sack leader with 132.

While many Saints fans welcomed the reunion, reactions across social media were mixed.

One fan questioned Jordan’s decision to stay in New Orleans rather than pursue a championship elsewhere.

“Dude should be ring chasing,” the fan wrote.

“Should’ve gone somewhere he can actually win a ring,” another wrote.

Others, however, viewed the move as a fitting continuation of a legendary career.

“Feel good story right here man. Retire where it started!” one fan posted shortly after the news broke.

“Saints fans watched this man terrorize quarterbacks for over a decade and said one more year won’t hurt. At this point Cam Jordan is less a player and more a permanent feature of the franchise,” a user wrote.

Not all reactions were positive. Some critics believe the Saints should focus on developing younger talent rather than going after a veteran nearing the end of his career.

“Buddy is washed. All he will do is get in the way of a young guy’s snaps and development,” one fan argued.

Still, others pointed to Jordan’s performance from last season as proof that he can still contribute to the team.

“Damn, that’s actually solid for them if he’s healthy and plays good,” another fan wrote.

Cam Jordan Returns to New Orleans for Another Season

Cam Jordan was selected by the Saints with the 24th pick in the 2011 NFL draft. He has played 15 seasons and earned eight Pro Bowl selections.

Despite being 36 years old, he remains productive. He got 10.5 sacks last season (his best total since 12.5 in 2021) and has missed only two games since entering the league.

His return just comes after teammate Chase Young showed his desire to see the veteran star play another season for the New Orleans.

“It’s a lot of rumors going around, but Cam, what he’s done for this organization the past 15 years is phenomenal,” Young said. “The guy who leads the locker room, he’s a big brother to me. I’ve learned a lot from Cam. He’s a gold jacket guy, man. … If it was me, I would love to get OG back in the building.”

Whether Jordan’s final NFL chapter concludes with a deep playoff run or ends as a disaster, only time will tell. What is certain is that one of the greatest players in Saints history will once again wear the New Orleans uniform, giving fans another season to celebrate a franchise icon.
