    “That’s Terrifying”: NFL World Relieved After Robert Griffin III Escapes Houston Airplane Fire Scare

    Robert Griffin III said he was safe after an aircraft’s engine caught fire shortly after takeoff in Houston on Friday. There were reportedly 267 passengers and 13 crew members on board United Airlines Flight 102 bound for Munich, Germany, as it safely returned to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

    The former NFL star took to X to explain the situation in detail, with several fans responding with just as much relief.

    “The right engine of our plane flying out of Houston caught fire just after take off. We heard 15 straight loud bangs and immediately knew something was wrong,” Griffin III wrote.

    “Thankfully the pilots were able to get us and every passenger back safe and sound with zero injuries. God is good.”

    Fans in the comments section spoke further about how scary this situation might have been, with fears turning into relief for all on board.

    What’s Robert Griffin III Doing Now?

    After making his debut for Fox Sports as a color commentator in college football last year, Robert Griffin III is getting ready for his second year with the network in the role.

    Griffin also spoke about his time away from broadcasting after he departed ESPN and what it means to be coming back to something he loves.

    “Being out and away from it showed me that the passion to do it never waned,” Griffin said, per On3.

    “Fox was the first place that I auditioned and immediately saw my ability both in the broadcast booth and also in studio. I wanted to make sure when I came over that I gave them my best foot forward.”
