Sports analyst Skip Bayless doesn’t think the Seattle Seahawks have what it takes to repeat as Super Bowl champions, a feat most recently enjoyed by the Kansas City Chiefs before the Philadelphia Eagles poured hot water on their attempt to complete a three-peat. Instead, he names another team that he believes can really roll the dice in 2026 following their offseason acquisitions.
The Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots in California to win the Super Bowl last season. They were led by quarterback Sam Darnold, who became the first member to win a Super Bowl from the highly coveted 2018 NFL draft class, which also included the likes of Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.
During his appearance on the recent segment of Underdog, Bayless gave his early Super Bowl prediction, mentioning the Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills. He favors the latter to finally win it all next season.
“I’m picking the bills to get to the Super Bowl,” Bayless said. “Not only do I pick them to get there, I pick them to win it.
Bayless added his reason why he believes Allen’s Bills can win it all, highlighting a major coaching change.
“It just feels like it’s going to be their year because I like Joe Brady, and I like the new energy he’s going to bring as the head coach,” Bayless added. “Sean McDermott was just boring to me. I think he’s a boring pregame speech giver, solid, but boring. They needed new offensive energy, and now Joe Brady’s at the controls of the whole football team.”
Bayless mentions the Bills’ defensive coordinator as well.
“I have always been a big Jim Leonhard fan since his days playing for Rex Ryan in New York,” Bayless continued. “You like him too, he’s just smart and savvy. He’s been doing this for a long time at Wisconsin as well as in pro football, and he will make this defense the best it can be.”
Skip Bayless Mentions Bills Players He Looks Forward to Next Season
While explaining his reason behind picking the Bills to win the Super Bowl, Skip Bayless named several players who could make a significant impact in a potential Super Bowl run. This includes former fifth overall pick Bradley Chubb, Dee Alford Geno Stone and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
“I’m a Bradley Chubb fan. Once upon a time, you guys picked him fifth overall, and then he wound up in Miami for the last five years,” Bayless said. “But I’m with you, coming off the ACL, I thought he had a good year with eight and a half sacks.
“I like Dee Alford at corner, and I like Geno Stone, who they signed from your Bengals at safety. And Aqib Talib especially loves C.J. Gardner-Johnson—he’s my guy. Everywhere he goes, good stuff happens. He’s got a bit of Aqib in him. He’s not Aqib Talib, but he has that ‘it’ factor that I can’t explain.”
It remains to be seen if Bayless’ prediction proves to be right.
