The Baltimore Ravens have been the early story of the offseason following their decision to move on from John Harbaugh. While many are anxiously waiting to see where the Super Bowl-winning head coach ends up, others are curious to see who Baltimore will try to recruit.
Baltimore announced on Sunday that it had completed an interview with Matt Nagy, the former Chicago Bears head coach and the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator.
“We have completed an interview with Matt Nagy for our head coach position,” the Ravens posted.
The post saw a tsunami of reaction online, with fans splitting into two camps. Some loved the idea of Nagy joining Baltimore, while others recoiled.
“You hire Nagy, all your problems will be solved. The Chiefs dynasty will end. Mahomes is gonna be doomed without him. In fact, Mahomes will never ever win without him. Nagy is the glue that kept the Chiefs dynasty together, even for those years he was in Chicago. Hire him!” one fan demanded.
Ravens Will Reportedly Interview Other Candidates After Matt Nagy
- Anthony Weaver: Dolphins defensive coordinator (The Athletic)
- Joe Brady: Bills offensive coordinator (NFL Media)
- Brian Flores: Vikings defensive coordinator (NFL Media)
- Kliff Kingsbury: former Commanders offensive coordinator (NFL Media)
- Robert Saleh: 49ers defensive coordinator (ESPN)
- Vance Joseph: Broncos defensive coordinator (team announced)
- Klint Kubiak: Seahawks offensive coordinator (team announced)
- David Webb: Broncos quarterbacks coach (team announced)
- Matt Nagy: Chiefs offensive coordinator (team announced)
One could assume that by interviewing Vance Joseph, Klint Kubiak, David Webb, and Matt Nagy first, these coaches are the frontrunners. However, various scheduling hurdles could mean some candidates are interviewed before others. Until teams start hiring candidates, there is little pressure for Baltimore to rush into a decision.
