The Baltimore Ravens came up just short of reaching the playoffs after closing out the 2025 regular season with a defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers. That game also marked the end of John Harbaugh’s time as the team’s head coach, as he finished the season with an 8–9 record in 2025.
Harbaugh leaves Baltimore with one of the most respected résumés in the NFL. He has been the Ravens’ head coach since 2008 and led the franchise to a Super Bowl victory in 2012. Over the past week, his name has been connected to several teams around the league, and now another potential destination has entered the conversation.
The Green Bay Packers, who as per Forbes are currently valued at $6.65 billion, could emerge as Harbaugh’s next stop, especially after the Packers were eliminated in the wild-card round with a 31–27 loss to the Chicago Bears. That defeat has placed head coach Matt LaFleur’s future under scrutiny.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, there is also a strong personal connection that links Harbaugh to the organization. Former Packers president Bob Harlan remains a highly influential figure in Green Bay, and his son Bryan is an agent who represents John Harbaugh, who also reportedly has deep roots in the Midwest, which further strengthens the Green Bay link.
If the Packers choose to move in a new direction at head coach, it won’t come as a surprise if they sign Harbaugh ahead of the next season.
Meanwhile, LaFleur, who has led Green Bay for seven seasons, currently owns an overall record of 79–46–1 and is under contract through the 2026 season.
LaFleur Avoids Future HC Talk After Playoff Exit
The Green Bay Packers were officially eliminated from the 2025 NFL season after losing their wildcard playoff game against the Chicago Bears. What made the defeat even more painful was the fact that Matt LaFleur’s side blew up a comfortable 21-3 lead, eventually succumbing to the Chicago-based franchise with a scoreline of 31-27.
This, but naturally, has prompted a lot of conversations around LaFleur’s future with the side, and upon being asked a question about the same, this is what he had to say.
“With all due respect to your question, now’s not the time for that. I mean I’m just hurting for these guys. You know, I can only think about just what happened, and there will be time for that”, LaFleur stated after the game.
Despite choosing not to comment on his future with the Packers, he subsequently sang praises for the Packers, calling it the best organization in the world.
