Maxx Crosby’s Agent Breaks Silence on Alleged Failed Medical With Update on Fitness

Maxx Crosby would have been playing alongside Lamar Jackson as a Baltimore Raven by now. However, news of him allegedly failing his medical test broke out. Four days after reports of a trade between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Ravens emerged, the Ravens announced that they were backing out of this trade.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that Crosby did not pass his physical test, as he continues to recover from an offseason knee injury. The Ravens are getting back their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks from Vegas.

Amid this hubbub, Crosby’s agent, CJ LaBoy, has come up with a statement. On X, LaBoy broke his silence around this controversy and wrote:

“Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache. Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program & will undoubtedly return as the dominant game wrecker he has been these past 7 seasons.”

This could be good news for the Raiders, as a healthy Maxx Crosby could positively impact their defense. In the meantime, Corsby had already shared a heartfelt farewell to the Raider Nation on social media. The future seems uncertain for Crosby, as the Raiders seem to be going on a full-out rebuild, and Crosby wants to join a contender. So, what lies next for him?

Crosby now returns to a tense locker room where he had already expressed frustration after being shut down late in the 2025 season. The Raiders also posted a statement explicitly mentioning that the Ravens had “backed out” of the agreement. With this, the relationship between the front office and the defensive end seems even more fractured, especially with the team pushing for a trade despite Crosby’s initial wish to stay.

Which Teams Could Take Maxx Crosby?

The window for Maxx Crosby to play elsewhere out of Las Vegas isn’t closed yet. Now that Baltimore is officially off the table, several teams that earlier were priced out by the Ravens’ offering two first-round picks could come back for the sweepstakes. This is only possible if the respective teams’ medical staff are comfortable with Crosby continuing to rehabilitate his knee injury.

Some of the likely contenders could be the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles were the stiffest competition for the Ravens, offering a first and second-round pick. Since Micah Parsons’ departure to Green Bay last year, the Cowboys are desperately looking for a defensive cornerstone and can accomodate $20 million in cap space to work things out.

On the other hand, the Philadelphia Eagles, since Jaelan Phillips’ departure in free agency, have their edge depth thin. The Eagles could use this opportunity to restructure an aggressive contract, fitting Crosby’s $30.7 million cap in 2026.
