Is Tariq Woolen Leaving the Seahawks? Cryptic Post on X Sparks Free Agency Buzz

Free agency buzz has taken over the NFL this past week, with a plethora of players joining new teams ahead of the 2026 campaign. After winning Super Bowl LX, the Seattle Seahawks are in the news once again, thanks to a cryptic post from one of their defensive players.

Seahawks’ cornerback Tariq Woolen’s recent social media message has got football fans confused, linking it with his potential departure from the defending champions. Just a few hours ago, Woolen, through his X account, posted a seemingly cryptic message that just consisted of five dots and no further explanation.

While there have been no confirmed reports of Woolen leaving Seattle just yet, his cryptic X message, combined with his free agent status, has snowballed into an avalanche of doubts amongst NFL enthusiasts, wondering if he’ll stay with his current franchise or start looking elsewhere.

Having signed a 4-year, $3,992,216 contract with the Seattle-based franchise back in 2022, Tariq Woolen has been a free agent since February of this year. While it’s yet to be seen if he continues to stay with the Seahawks or finds a new franchise, he is one of the hottest free agent prospects in the market.

Which Franchises Could Land Tariq Woolen?

While the mystique around Woolen’s next NFL stint continues to brew with each passing day, the cornerback could have a lot of takers vying for his signature.

While Darien Porter continues to be a top name on the Raiders’ depth chart, the Las Vegas-based franchise would surely like to reinforce its defense, and getting someone like Tariq on board could solve a lot of their defensive woes, as evidenced by their performance last season.

Meanwhile, Packers’ general manager Gutekunst’s track record of having multiple options in the same spot could see them going for Woolen given his Super Bowl-winning pedigree.

While many franchises would like Tariq’s services, the cornerback market, according to Sportrac, has estimated Woollen’s offseason market value to be a whopping $8.2 million. This comes on the backdrop of the cornerback’s consistent performances throughout the course of his NFL campaign, solidified with his Super Bowl win last season.
