Josh Jacobs’ arrest took the NFL world by storm as the Green Bay Packers star was arrested on five charges by the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department. The 28-year-old former Alabama running back turned himself in on Tuesday, 26th May, 2026.
According to the press release by the Hobart-Lawrence police, the arrest happened following a noise disturbance complaint by Jacobs’ neighbors. Jacobs was booked with battery – domestic abuse, criminal damage to property – domestic abuse, disorderly conduct – domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
While the press release has stated Jacobs has been arrested without bond, police chief Michael Renkas refused to share any further comments on the incident:
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information will be released at this time.” , per ESPN.
As the former Alabama star faces four misdemeanor and one felony charges, Jacobs’ attorneys have come forward denying any allegations:
“Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public.”
With the Green Bay Packers starting their preparations for the new season on Tuesday, head coach Matt LeFleur is scheduled for a press conference after the team’s OTA. The identity of the alleged victim remains undisclosed.
Heading into his eighth season in the NFL, Josh Jacobs is coming off a 929-yard season, where he scored 13 touchdowns. The former Las Vegas star spent four seasons with the Raiders before moving to Green Bay in 2024. Jacobs is a three-time Pro-Bowler and a First-Team All-Pro in 2022.
