Kirk Cousins has had another tumultuous season, which includes a change of teams. As he grapples with a change in scenery, an online post surfaced on Tuesday claiming he is also dealing with off-field issues. A post on X by a fake Adam Schefter account claimed that Cousins was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
“#Breaking: New #Raiders veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins has been arrested on Suspicion Of Manslaughter after an altercation involving a firearm Per Source,” the report claimed.
However, it’s important to note that the post was by a fake account impersonating NFL insider Adam Schefter. This was also pointed out in the community notes.
“This is posted by a fake account impersonating Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter); the real account has not reported any such arrest. No credible sources report Kirk Cousins being arrested for manslaughter,” the community note read.
Kirk Cousins Addition Raises Bar in Las Vegas
While the post was false, it revealed one truth: all eyes are on Kirk Cousins and the Raiders. One may argue that the bar is higher for Las Vegas now than it was in January,, after Pete Carroll left the team.
Cousins has only finished with a losing record twice since 2014. Both times, Cousins was below .500 by just one loss. As such, the Raiders, a team that finished with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, are set for a rebound. How big a rebound falls on Cousins and Fernando Mendoza.
Will the Raiders put the AFC West on notice in 2026, or will the struggling organization return Cousins to his days with the Washington Commanders?
