It’s been quite the 12 hours for the Baltimore Ravens. After the team agreed to send two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for edge rusher Maxx Crosby, the team backed out of the trade the night before the new league year starts when things become official.
The following morning, on Wednesday, March 11, the Ravens agreed to terms with the top free agent edge rusher in Trey Hendrickson.
The four-time Pro Bowler and former Cincinnati Bengal ranks second in pressure rate (13.2%) since 2021, fourth in sacks (61), and fourth in sacks that result in fumbles (11.)
How Much Is Trey Hendrickson’s Contract Worth With Ravens?
Trey Hendrickson is now one of the highest-paid defensive ends in the NFL.
Hendrickson and the ravens reached a deal on a four-year, $120 million contract with half of it ($60 million) fully guaranteed. According to overthecap.com, Hendrickson’s deal (at $40 million per year), ranks him tied for fifth-highest contract value for an edge rusher, as Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett also is paid $40 million per season.
Hendrickson started his career with the New Orleans Saints and had three rather less productive seasons to begin his career. A breakout season in 2020 where he recorded a career-high 13.5 sacks led to a four-year $60 million deal from the Bengals.
In the last five seasons with the Bengals, Hendrickson has been extremely productive, producing 61 sacks, 171 total tackles, 13 pass deflections, and 12 forced fumbles. He was named to four-straight Pro Bowls from 2021-2024 but would play just seven games during the 2025-2026 season due to having season-ending hip/pelvis surgery.
