Maxx Crosby Injury History: A Look at the Raiders Star’s Health Timeline

Maxx Crosby has been in the headlines since the Ravens deal fell through. The 28-year-old was expected to join the Baltimore franchise, but the Ravens pulled the plug due to failed physical and significant medical concerns regarding his knee.

Crosby is no stranger to injuries. He was the fourth round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and has been a starting defensive end for most of his career. In that time, Crosby has suffered many injuries, some of which have limited his time on the field.

Two injuries that have lingered for longer than others are the pedal ankle sprain and knee problems. In 2024, Crosby suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 2 of the season. He was able to get through it and join his team after missing just one game.

However, the same injury reemerged in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This time, it required a season-ending surgery, limiting Crosby to just 12 games that season. Before that, Crosby hadn’t missed any regular-season game for three consecutive years.

In October 2025, the defensive end suffered minor knee and back injuries in Week 7 during a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He didn’t miss any games because of it at the time, but the injury reemerged two months later.

In December 2025, the Raiders put Crosby on injured reserve due to a knee injury. He ended up missing the last two games in the season and had to undergo surgery for a long-term solution on January 7 2026.

Other than his skills and physicality, Crosby’s consistency makes him one of the best DE’s in the league. But in the last two years, he has suffered multiple season-ending injuries.

Maxx Crosby’s Ravens’ Deal Was Canceled

Crosby was involved in one of the NFL’s biggest blockbuster trades of the 2026 offseason. He was slated to join the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks received by the Las Vegas Raiders.

On Tuesday, the Raiders announced that the Ravens had backed out of the deal. As per ESPN, the reason why the Ravens backed out was medical concerns about Crosby during his evaluation.

The exact details of this deal are yet to be revealed, but the Ravens’ backing out has sent shockwaves through the league. Now, the Raiders are left with the dilemma of whether they would like to keep Crosby on the roster or try to find another team for him.
