Former LSU National Champ Urges Eagles to Trade Jalen Hurts Amid Reports of Offensive Struggles

There’s an apparent rift between quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s deep into the offseason, and article posted on ESPN.com by reporters Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler is gaining steam regarding Hurts’ future with the team.

Some notes from the article include the ending to the Eagles’ playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers and Hurts’ decision to change the play before he went out to the huddle. The article highlights how Hurts often diverts from the game plan, changes play calls excessively, wants to avoid playing under center, reluctant to let the ball rip, and reportedly has poor body language and isn’t always bought in.

With the Eagles’ pass game being less productive the last few seasons, former NFL and LSU national champion nose tackle Breiden Fehoko thinks it’s smart for the Eagles to trade Hurts while he still has value.

Fehoko was never a teammate of Hurts’ but knows a thing or two about football, being a national champion in college and playing in the NFL for the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers from 2020-2024.

What Could A Potential Jalen Hurts Trade Look Like?

If the Philadelphia Eagles made Jalen Hurts available for trade, it would make this offseason even more wild than it has been.

As of now, there hasn’t been any news suggesting that the Eagles are looking to move Hurts, but general manager Howie Roseman and company are never shy from making trades.

It would be interesting to see what the Eagles would be looking at in return for Hurts. He’s only two season removed from being a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and has led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances in the last five seasons.

Hurts is a three-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro that has thrown for 17,891 yards, 110 touchdowns, and 45 interceptions. Additionally, he’s rushed for 3,554 yards and 63 touchdowns.

Given his resume, the Eagles would likely be seeking at least a first-round pick in return for Hurts, especially with a weaker quarterback draft class.
