Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore is facing all of the backlash as of the moment, with a missed catch he dealt with in the extra period of his team’s most recent postseason affair. On Sunday, Jan. 18, Moore and the rest of coach Ben Johnson‘s 2025-26 Bears team were up against coach Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams in the former’s home stadium to determine who would vie for this year’s NFC championship.
But, much to the dismay of the Bears faithful in Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, Moore may have cost the game for his franchise. This is because during the 6:39 mark in overtime of the second NFC Divisional Playoffs matchup, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams threw a pass to Moore that would’ve put the Bears in front against the Rams. But the pass was intercepted by Rams’ safety Kam Curl.
Football fans and spectators then react to Moore’s alleged lackluster effort in receiving the ball that could have turned things around in favor of his team winning the postseason game.
“If DJ Moore puts in any effort on this, the interception doesn’t happen,” one fan captioned.
“Hate to be that guy, but DJ Moore lost us the game – though Williams should have not thrown to him. He wasn’t even looking! Regardless, wonderful season. Bears Forever 🧡🐻💙,” another fan wrote with a trio of emojis.
“DJ Moore allergic to big time games,” another user claimed.
“A serious franchise would cut him tonight. Unacceptable effort right here,” a fan posted.
Other users all over X/Twitter are then calling for Moore to leave the Bears franchise as a whole by either the team letting him walk or he gets dealt to another squad.
“DJ Moore should never be allowed to step foot in Chicago,” one fan said.
“DJ Moore, get the f**k off the team, man,” another fan shared with a GIF.
“First time in his college or pro career DJ Moore has been on a winning team. Should probably be his last. Certified loser,” a fan pointed out.
With the plethora of onlookers pointing the blame towards Moore for his lack of effort in receiving Williams’ pass, it seems as though it is likely that the 28-year-old may have played his final game as a member of the Bears roster. Moore is currently in his eighth year in the league in the 2025-26 NFL season, third with the Chicago-based franchise. He spent his first five campaigns in the league with the Carolina Panthers.
The Chicago Bears Succumbed To A Three-Point Defeat To The Los Angeles Rams
Following DJ Moore’s miscue on offense, the Los Angeles Rams were able to take advantage and score a walk-off field goal by way of a kick by place kicker Harrison Mevis in the 3:24 mark of overtime. This gave the Rams a three-point lead, 20-17, against the Chicago Bears, which they held on to until the game ended. Chicago has now been eliminated from this year’s postseason play.
