Chicago Bears starting quarterback Caleb Williams has left several onlookers’ jaws dropped with a come-from-behind play in the dying minutes of his team’s current postseason game. On Sunday, Jan. 18, Williams and the rest of coach Ben Johnson‘s 2025-26 Bears squad are going up against coach Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams in the former’s home stadium for the right to play in this year’s NFC championship game.
With the game being played in front of the Bears’ home crowd at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, almost all of the crowd present during the game held their breath as the matchup was seemingly over with their team losing. This is because the Rams held a seven-point lead, 17-10, with 27 seconds left in the game. But, Williams was able to heave it from practically three-fourths of the field to knot the nip-and-tuck affair up, 17-all.
Football fans and spectators then proclaim Williams’ clutch play as the best play of the 2025-26 season, given the nature of the do-or-die game and how he was able to do it in an instant.
“OMG CALEB WHAT AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND PLAY OF THE YEAR!,” one fan exclaimed.
“This is the equivalent of a fadeaway buzzer beater, wow,” another fan wrote.
“Is this Madden?!?!,” another user questioned.
“The craziest play I’ve seen in a while,” a fan shared.
Other users all over X/Twitter gave their overall thoughts on Williams’ game, deeming him as one of the best players in his position in the current landscape of the league.
“He’s that guy. I can’t even lie 😭😭,” one fan said with a couple of crying emojis.
“ICEMAN DID IT AGAIN,” another fan claimed with a photo of Williams.
“Man, Iceman the best fourth quarterback since Brady!! Caleb Williams omg!!,” a fan posted.
Williams’ clutch heave was received by his teammate in tight end Cole Kmet from 50 yards, forcing the all-important affair to be sent to overtime. Nevertheless, whoever comes out on top between the Chicago-based franchise and the Rams will play in the 2026 NFC title game against coach Mike Macdonald’s Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Jan. 25, in the Seahawks home stadium, the Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington.
Caleb Williams And The Chicago Bears Beat The Green Day Packers To Extend Their Postseason Run
Perhaps Caleb Williams and his Chicago Bears teammates are using the momentum gained from their NFC Wild Card Playoffs triumph to try to defeat the Los Angeles Rams. This is because back on Jan. 11, the Bears beat coach Matt LeFleur’s Green Bay Packers, also on their home pitch, by four points, 31-27, to advance into the current NFC Divisional Playoffs. Williams also led the team in scoring statistics in that matchup.
