As it stands, Shedeur Sanders’ impact on the Colorado-based program runs deep despite him never winning a national title with them. This is because his jersey was actually retired by the team back in April 2025. He was then drafted into the NFL by then coach Kevin Stefanski’s Cleveland-based franchise with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 draft, where he helped them finish the recently concluded season with an overall record of 5-12 but was unable to reach this year’s postseason.
For his father, Deion Sanders, he has spent the last three seasons coaching the Buffaloes, and will enter his fourth year later this 2026. In his first campaign without Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 season, Deion Sanders spearheaded his Colorado-based program to an overall record of 3-9 (1-8 Big 12).
