The 2026 NFL Draft had a few unexpected twists, from Diego Pavia going undrafted despite being a Heisman finalist to no FCS player getting selected in the first three rounds.
When it came to FBS teams, Deion Sanders’ Colorado joined Bill Belichick’s UNC, earning an unwanted feat, sending zero players to the NFL. Colorado had multiple prospects, including CB Preston Hodge, WR Sincere Brown, and OL Zylon Crisler. However, none of them had their name called in Pittsburgh.
This comes just a year after Colorado saw Travis Hunter picked No. 2 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars, as well as Shedeur Sanders, LaJohntay Wester, and Jimmy Horn Jr. getting selected in the fifth and sixth rounds, respectively.

Colorado’s NFL Draft Failure Comes One Year After Deion Sanders Extension
Deion Sanders signed a massive contract extension just before the start of last season after leading the Buffs to nine wins in 2024. This $54m extension put Coach Prime among the top-15 highest-paid coaches in college football.
However, the Buffs did not make any significant improvement, managing to achieve just three wins in 2025. This raised eyebrows with many questioning Deion Sanders’ capability to coach the Buffs, especially after both his son, Shedeur, and Shilo Sanders had left the program.
Looking forward to next season, Sanders is yet to land a 5-Star recruit in the 2026 class, as Texas native Carson Crawford remains the highest-rated player set to join the Buffs. On the other hand, the Buffs have lost star O-Lineman Jordan Seaton to Lane Kiffin’s LSU, leaving major questions about an already weak offensive front for QB Julian Lewis.
