The Dallas Cowboys have done well in the NFL draft, landing some big rookies like Malachi Lawrence, Jaishawn Barham, and Devin Moore. However, there were also several undrafted free agents that the team has picked up after the draft ended, with these players being given a second shot at making it to an NFL roster after not getting drafted.
For this cycle, the Dallas Cowboys have revealed that they signed 11 undrafted free agents for a shot at the final roster. They still have plenty of time to impress the Cowboys coaching staff, and their next shot at doing that is during the rookie minicamp on Friday. Here are all eleven undrafted free agents that have been given a shot at making it to the Cowboys’ final roster:
- WR Camden Brown, Georgia Southern
- DT Tommy Dunn, Kansas
- T Sidney Fugar, Baylor
- DT Kelvin Gilliam, Virginia Tech
- WR Jordan Hudson, SMU
- LB Langston Patterson, Vanderbilt
- OT Shiyazh Pete, Kentucky
- RB Dominic Richardson, Tulsa
- TE D.J. Rogers, TCU
- TE Michael Trigg, Baylor
- DT D.J. Withers, Kansas
The two big names to watch out for are tight ends Michael Trigg and D.J. Rogers. These two were reportedly given the highest amount of guaranteed money, around $200,000 each. This means that these two might have a real shot at making it to the roster, though that may be tough as the Cowboys already have a crowded tight ends room.
Meanwhile, as the Cowboys prepare for the rookie minicamp, they have signed six of their seven draft picks, with edge rusher Malachi Lawrence being the last holdout so far, though he is expected to sign soon, as they are still finalizing their deal with him.
Analyst Believes This Dallas Cowboy Undrafted Free Agent Actually Has the Biggest Chance of Making Roster
As for which of these 11 undrafted free agents might make it to the final roster, NFL Draft analyst Ryan Fowler believes it could be Baylor’s Michael Trigg. At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, the tight end had 694 receiving yards and six touchdowns last season and is known for his wingspan and field savvy.
For now, all eleven of these undrafted free agents still have to prove themselves and they are up against stiff competition.
