Fernando Mendoza may be the possible No. 1 pick, but another name making waves is Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love who could be the biggest steal of the draft should he go any lower than what is predicted. His highest projection is at No. 3 with the Arizona Cardinals, but if they do not pick him, he could go a little lower, with his lowest projection possibly being No. 7 with the Washington Commanders.
ESPN’s NFL insider, Adam Schefter, has been hearing a lot of talks as of late regarding Jeremiyah Love, and it now seems more and more apparent that the Cardinals are poised to draft him at the No. 3 spot. There is still a possibility that the Cards could also trade that No. 3 pick, but so far, it is getting more and more possible that they would hold on to it and use that pick for Love.
“There is growing chatter in league circles that Love is truly in play at the high end of that range with Arizona. Ideally, the Cardinals would like to find a team willing to trade up so they can acquire more picks, and there have already been “exploratory” calls, as one source described it, regarding the No. 3 selection. But if the Cardinals hold on to their pick, some around the league believe they could pull an early draft surprise and select Love in a slot slightly higher than he has been projected to go,” he said.
Should Love not go No. 3 though, a lot of other teams seem to also want him and he could still go very high, with the Washington Commanders being a possible landing spot at No. 7, especially after they failed to land Aaron Jones Sr.
Tennessee Titans Might Also Be Interested in Jeremiyah Love
Should the Arizona Cardinals trade their No. 3 pick, another team that might get Jeremiyah Love could be the Tennessee Titans. They have the No. 4 overall pick and are in need of an edge rusher who could be good around Cam Ward.
Should the Cards hold on to their No. 3 pick and actually go for Love, the Titans might go for Texas Tech’s David Bailey or Ohio State’s Arvell Reese for their No. 4 pick instead.
