The Athletic’s senior NFL insider Dianna Russini’s comments about her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, which she made during an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up” in 2021, have resurfaced.
It was reposted by the “College Transfer Portal” account on X on Wednesday after Russini’s photos with the New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel were shared by Page Six on Tuesday.
In the clip, Russini joked that she was married to “someone average,” which is why she did not post about him on social media as often as other people might.
“I’m married to someone average. If I was married to someone beautiful, I would over-post too. Look we are average together but he makes me above average because he married me,” she quipped.
After she realized her jokes sounded harsh to a television audience, Russini said:
“I am so sorry, I need to really stop killing my husband on television. I’m going to be divorced by Christmas.”
Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant reposted it on X and wrote:
“Bruh.”
Russini and Vrabel’s photos by Page Six were taken on March 28, which showed them together at the Ambiente resort in Sedona, Arizona. As per the pictures, they had breakfast on the patio, lounged by the pool, and in a hot tub. Later, they held hands, with their fingers locked.
As reported by Fox News on April 8, Vrabel called the interactions “innocent.” Meanwhile, Russini said, “Reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.”
Steven Ginsberg, the Executive Editor at The Athletic, also defended Russini, saying the photos were “misleading.”
Russini and Vrabel’s professional relationship dates back to 2018. She covered him extensively during his stint with the Tennessee Titans (2018-2023) while she was at ESPN.
Dez Bryant tweets about $8,000 gambling debt with Cardi B’s ex-husband Offset
On April 7, Dez Bryant shared a “quick story” on X about how he had beaten Offset out of $8,000 in a wager, but Offset “tried to take a nap” on him to avoid the debt. When Bryant tapped him to wake him up and collect the money, Offset’s entourage allegedly looked ready to intervene.
Bryant said since he was outnumbered, he did not risk a fight. Bryant shared this story after Offset was shot in the leg on April 6 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida.
Bryant claimed that Offset actually reached out to him on a “money play” just three hours before he was shot. But the ex-Cowboys star declined. Reportedly, the shooting took place due to a separate case involving a $10,000 gambling debt or more with rapper Lil Tjay.
