Cameron Jordan Landing Spots: 5 Teams That Could Target the Saints Legend

Cameron Jordan, a New Orleans Saints legend who many believed would retire with the franchise, instead appears to be hitting the market. The 36-year-old pass rusher is coming off a quality year with 10.5 sacks, proving that he still has plenty left in the tank.

According to Spotrac, Jordan is coming off a $6 million, one-year deal. As such, could command a similar style of deal elsewhere, depending on team need and how big a market he can muster. Here’s a look at the five landing spots that make the most sense.

Cameron Jordan Landing Spots That Make Logical Sense

    #5 – Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers made a huge move for Micah Parsons, and while his presence was felt, the team still lagged to be 21st in sacks. Adding Cameron Jordan could help the unit get into the top 15, which can only help out the rest of the team, including Jordan Love.

    #4 – Carolina Panthers

Cameron Jordan has spent his career facing the NFC South, so staying in the division could make the most sense from a convenience and comfort standpoint for both sides. Jordan might also wish to be with a contender, and the pass-rush-needy Panthers could be entering such a window with a big offseason.

    #3 – Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are a franchise in need of a boost to its pass rush with an aging Chris Jones and a unit that finished 25th in sacks. With Trent McDuffie joining the Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City has another big reason to beef up its defense wherever the team can.

    #2 – San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers finished last in sacks in the entire NFL out of 32 teams. If San Francisco doesn’t add a notable name this offseason, fans may riot. The 12-win team has a case as a contender as well, with a need for just a few pieces to set up another run. Cameron Jordan could be part of the solution.

    #1 – Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals are a defense and healthy Joe Burrow away from making another run through an AFC that might not have to deal with the Kansas City Chiefs anymore. With Trey Hendrickson out the door, Cincinnati could also become somewhat desperate for a replacement once the team realizes who it let out the door, which could set up the best offer on the table for Jordan.
