With the 2025-26 NFL season now over with the Seattle Seahawks winning the Super Bowl, teams have now moved on to rebuilding their rosters for next season. This means that teams have now begun to let players go, and there are some big names who have found themselves without a team already, including Kyler Murray, Stefon Diggs and Darnell Mooney.
NFL insider Ari Meirov compiled a list of players various teams have released over the last few days, and it seems that some names have proven to be liabilities due to their private affairs like Diggs, while others were clearly cut to clear some cap space, such as Darnell Mooney.
- Cardinals QB Kyler Murray
- Patriots WR Stefon Diggs
- Falcons WR Darnell Mooney
- Steelers TE Jonnu Smith
- Giants LB Bobby Okereke
- Vikings DT Jonathan Allen
- Commanders CB Marshon Lattimore
- Chargers G Mekhi Becton
- Chargers TE Will Dissly
These are just the players who have been cut as of writing, meaning that more players are expected to be cut as teams begin to prepare for the NFL Draft in April. Some players are believed to be in danger as more reports of roster cuts are expected to come in over the next few days and weeks.
Players in Danger of Getting Released During Next Round of Roster Cuts
There are several other players who are expected to be released over the next few days as teams move forward to the 2026-27 season. Among the biggest names will be Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, who had a dismal year at Miami. However, there is a chance he might get traded instead of getting cut as some teams have shown interest, including the New York Jets.
There are also talks that the Vikings might soon release RB Aaron Jones for cap reasons. With the release of QB Kyler Murray, the Cardinals are also expected to release RB James Conner as part of their roster shakeup.
Other names in danger are Texans RB Joe Mixon, Chargers guard Mekhi Becton, Packers center Elgton Jenkins, Titans WR Calvin Ridley and more.
