Former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has revealed his conditions if he were to become a WWE wrestler. On Monday, Feb. 23, Newton took to the X/Twitter account of his show, 4thand1, to upload a video in which he shared his thoughts about the leading global wrestling promotion, the WWE, in correlation to the sport of football.
This is because Newton had some comments regarding the recent viral back-and-forth between seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and internet personality-turned WWE superstar Logan Paul. Newton was asked if he’d ever step foot in the squared circle to be a professional wrestler. He said he’d be interested in the gig if it made sense financially and if it was on his terms.
“Yeah, I would consider, yeah. It’s got to make sense. And how I spell, my sense is C-E-N-T-S. Send a contract. Let me see it. Let me have my people take a look at it. You know what I’m saying? Because if some of them folks, I’m gonna be natural. I’ve been in the gym packet. I ain’t, I don’t need no extra juice. No, no, no, and I can move with the best of you,” Newton said.
“Need you a tag team partner, brother? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Nah, brother. I, I play with my head, not my heart. You have to sit this one out, brother. I need some water though,” he then answered when asked about a potential tag team partner.
Newton has been about five years removed from playing professional football since he retired from the NFL in 2021. He had a 10-year career from 2011 to 2021, as he was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Panthers franchise. He played for the Carolina-based squad from 2011 to 2019, before moving to the New England Patriots for a year. He ended his tenure back with the Panthers.
Cam Newton Calls Out Logan Paul For His Shot At Tom Brady
On Feb. 15, Logan Paul reposted a photo on X/Twitter that highlighted the difficulties of professional wrestling with a caption through which he took a shot at Tom Brady.
While the former New England Patriots legend has since responded to Paul’s post, Cam Newton also backed up Brady by calling out Paul.
“ Respectfully, Mr. Logan, if the shoe fit wear it, Cinderella. Boy, you talk about calling yourself a top-notch athlete, doing it under real pressure. Now doing the backhand sprain, that’s cool. But you got some folks in the NFL that do backhand sprains after they score. Can you do that?” Newton shared.
