Cam Newton Doesn’t Hold Back as he Names NFL Team That Tyreek Hill Should Join Next

Tyreek Hill recently became an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career after being released by the Miami Dolphins. The veteran wide receiver is recovering from a dislocated knee and torn ACL.

His release is set to save the Dolphins $22.8 million against the salary cap. This move has started fresh discussions about his future in the league. Even though he’s turning 32 on March 1, Hill is in high demand.

There are several options open for Hill to explore. Although we’re far from any official offer, there are strong rumors linking the wide receiver with several teams. One of the frontrunners, as per the rumors, is the New Orleans Saints.

But if we ask Cam Newton to predict which team Hill will join next, he’d have a different answer. He discussed the topic and shared his thoughts on it on a recent episode of 4th&1 with Cam Newton.

Newton took a dig at Hill by stating that there’s a lot going on in his life on and off the field, referring to his off-court drama. As for the team he should join next, Newton picked the Kansas City Chiefs, and for a good reason.

“One team that should consider him, the Kansas City Chiefs,” Newton said. “There’s familiarity there. You’ve got Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce…Kansas City makes a lot of sense.”

Newton believes that the Chiefs can land him at a bargain. There’s the added benefit of familiarity in Kansas City, but Hill is in a position where he’d have to prove himself to be considered a star player for a franchise like the Chiefs.

So, if the Chiefs play their cards right, they might bring Hill back to the place where it all started for him.

Tyreek Hill’s Kansas City Reunion is Possible

The Chiefs recently made a decision that fueled the Hill reunion rumors. They restructured Patrick Mahomes’ contract for the fourth year in a row, bringing his salary cap number down to $34.65 million from $78.2 million, which has opened up $43.56 million in salary cap space.

Freeing up cap space is going to allow them to sign either a star player or multiple players who will contribute to their rebuilding phase. Many believe that it’s an early indication of Tyreek Hill eventually getting reunited with the Chiefs organization.

Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones hinted at the same with a cryptic message on X after Hill was released by the Dolphins.
