Shedeur Sanders is heading into his second year in the NFL, after having a rocky start to his career as he slid out of the first round and eventually was drafted 144th by the Cleveland Browns.
He didn’t get any first team reps for the majority of the season and only got on the field after Dillon Gabriel was injured during a game.
After scaring fans about possibly drafting Ty Simpson in the 2026 NFL Draft, Browns General Manager Andrew Berry shared his expectations from Shedeur Sanders during a conversation with Tony Rizzo:
“To take another step and keep growing and learning. I think he’s had a really nice offseason. He did a really nice job at voluntary minicamp. I think his improvements in decision making and pocket management by the end of the year and certainly what we’ve seen so far in a very short spring have been positive.
“And I expect him to have more command of the offense and better ball security and situational awareness as we go into Year 2.”
Shedeur Sanders is battling Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel for the starting position in Cleveland.
Skip Bayless Unleashes Wrath on Browns for Cryptic QB Move in Shedeur Sanders’ Year 2
The Cleveland Browns selected Taylen Green as the 182nd overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft which left analyst Skip Bayless unhappy with the franchise.
On Monday’s episode of the Arena, Bayless pointed out that while the Browns did a good job of picking eight offensive players out of their 10 picks, he questioned them about their plans for Shedeur Sanders.
Bayless asked why the Browns picked Green and highlighted that Todd Monken saying the former Arkansas QB could work scared him.
“I’m saying, ‘What are you doing to Shedeur? Why would you bring in a kid that’s younger than him now and say, well he’s got a chance,’” Bayless said.
