Brandon Aiyuk has stirred controversy as the wide receiver has been posting against the San Francisco 49ers and the NFLPA on his social media accounts.
Analysts are questioning the depth of Aiyuk’s desire to be in the NFL, as he has continuously ranted that he doesn’t have an agent and that the NFLPA is not giving him a fair chance.
During a conversation with Conor Orr on Monday, NFL analyst Albert Breer discussed what he believes should be Aiyuk’s next steps:
“How badly does he wanna play? That’s my question, it’s really relatively simple, get reinstated, show up, they cut you, and you sign with the Commanders. And he had the whole spring to do that. And he chose not to, right? He’s already lost all his guaranteed money. I guess you have to question, how badly does this dude wanna play? With each day that he doesn’t start moving the ball forward toward playing in 2026, more people are going to be asking that question. And that’s not a good question to have people asking about you if you’re a football player.”
T.J. Houshmandzadeh Weighs In on Brandon Aiyuk’s 49ers Saga
Aiyuk’s saga of criticizing his own team and publicly demeaning the organization has once again drawn attention.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh discussed Aiyuk’s situation with the 49ers during a segment on “Speakeasy” shared on Sunday.
The former NFL wide receiver warned Commanders general manager Adam Peters against signing or trading for Aiyuk while also offering blunt advice to the receiver if he hopes to play in the NFL again.
“He might not step foot in an NFL stadium again if he doesn’t shut the [ __ ] up. Like, what is he doing? Like, Adam Peters, if you sign Brandon Aiyuk, the Commanders should fire you the day you sign him. Like, what are you thinking? What makes y’all any different than the San Francisco 49ers? You don’t think he’s going to do to you what he’s doing to them? Like, I don’t understand this.
“I don’t know why he’s doing these things, but as players, as a former player, and as players that are watching this that are current players, bro, the NFL is rolling with or without you. Get your a** on the bus and enjoy the ride, or get your a** off, ’cause we’re rolling. This bus is gonna keep going with or without you.”
As the drama continues, Aiyuk’s future remains uncertain. Whether he returns to the field with the 49ers or begins a new chapter elsewhere remains to be seen.
