The Golden State Warriors were beaming with confidence after Steph Curry was finally cleared to join the team back on March 5 against the Houston Rockets. However, it turned out to be an anti-climax for fans, as the Warriors lost the game in the final second after the sharp shooter failed to execute the game-winner. And a section of fans was seemingly upset about another loss.
After missing more than a month due to the knee injury, Curry played 26 minutes off the bench, on minutes restriction, to score 29 points and led the team, looking to end the losing run. However, they lost, 116-117, and the ending was not without controversy.
Even though he shot 11-21 from the field and 5-10 from deep, which are not bad numbers by any means, fans were desperate for a win. Hoop Central shared Steph’s numbers from the game and wrote:
“STEPH CURRY TONIGHT:
29 POINTS
11/21 FGM
5/10 3PM
26 MINUTESHES BACK.”
A few fans took to the comment section to express their disappointment with the loss and Curry’s throwing a Hail Mary at the end. One wrote:
“And probably the dumbest game winning shot of all time”
Another user took a dig at the 4-time NBA champion, claiming that he was again “choking” in clutch moments. The user wrote:
“Yeah he’s back to choking in the clutch”
This user also highlighted that, in the end, results matter for a team and wrote:
“And what else? An L”
Another fan was visibly upset with the game-winner and wrote:
“missed the game winner {crying emoji}”
A user even mocked Steph Curry and Co. for adding another loss to the losing run and wrote:
“He’s back with another L {laughing emojis}”

Even though some fans expressed their anger over another Warriors’ loss, others were pleased to see Steph Curry back in form and running just before the play-ins. The team will first have to take down the ninth seed of the Western Conference if they hope to continue their fight for a playoff spot.
Steph Curry and Co. look to pass play-ins test
The Warriors will probably face the Portland Trail Blazers or the LA Clippers in the first play-in game scheduled to begin on April 14. Now that the 2-time NBA MVP is back on the roster, the team will hope to go through the first hurdle.
Brandin Podziemski took up the guard duties in the absence of Curry. He averaged 17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in March, but the Warriors lost twice as many games as they won.
Even though the team lost the last game to the Houston Rockets, Steph Curry’s return would make fans happy. He looks in shape and form, ready to lead them through the most important and difficult period of the tournament.
