LeBron James’ Philadelphia connection is going all around the NBA world right now, but analyst Maria Rose has a special request for Joel Embiid. The 76ers have suffered back-to-back playoff exits, mainly due to the center’s unavailability following his constant injury struggles. The WNBA analyst made a special request to Embiid before the next season, as the team’s prospects look promising.
James is rumored to be in Philly if everything goes smoothly between the two parties. Earlier, the franchise also acquired Jaylen Brown in a trade deal for Paul George to pair with Tyrese Maxey and Embiid. On paper, things look promising for the team in the next season, and if the four-time NBA champion joins the squad, the 76ers could dominate the Eastern Conference.
On Instagram, Rose shared her thoughts in a video, saying:
“Joel Embiid, start icing now. From head to toe, I want every strand of your hair in that ice bath. I need you in the hyperbaric chamber, brother… I need you in that sauna. I need you on the treadmill, walking on the incline and no running ’cause you’ll rupture your Achilles, you’ll tear your ACL doing that. We don’t need no extra stuff, we already know you’re talented, bro, just do enough to keep you in shape, bro… You don’t need to work out with those old ladies, you need to come with me to Pilates class to yoga scope.”
Embiid is one of the most versatile centers in the league with the ability to carry the team on his back. However, his constant run-ins with injuries have hampered his consistency and thus failed to translate into team results. Last season, he underwent an emergency appendectomy that took a toll on his health.

In the 2025-26 season playoffs, the 76ers snatched Round 1 from Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics, though the former trailed 1-3 at one time. However, their journey couldn’t move past Round 2. Next season, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid will be on the same side, and the center was excited about the news.
76ers’ president of basketball operations Mike Gansey revealed the moment when he shared the news with Brown. He said:
“He’s in a really good space right now. He’s fired up. I called him right after the trade. He was excited — surprised — but he’s excited.”
If Embiid remains healthy through the 2026-27 season, the 76ers look like a serious title contender, even if they don’t get LeBron James. For now, everyone in Philly is waiting with bated breath.
