Knicks Fans Lose it With Karl-Anthony Towns For Complaining About Cluelessness in Current Role: “You and Mike Brown Need a Divorce”

Karl-Anthony Towns has had a rough 2026 season until now, with talk of his impact on the New York Knicks growing. The regular season is in the final phase, and it seems he still has no clue about his role on the team. Fans on social media called him out for not performing at an All-Star level like he is used to.

Towns is averaging 20 points, his lowest since his rookie season, along with 11.9 rebounds per game. Even though the Knicks are third in the Eastern Conference, the team has not looked as good as it did last season. Fullcourtpass shared KAT’s recent statement about his role on X and wrote:

“Karl-Anthony Towns on his role in the Knicks 75 games into the season

“I’m still trying to figure out where I could impact our team and winning the most.””

Knicks fans took to the comment section and criticized the 6-time NBA All-Star for not impacting the team’s performance or consistently helping with scoring. A user even suggested that he get traded and wrote:

“The up and down shit is annoying ngl nigga been saying this shit all year at this point you and Mike brown need a divorce”

Another user berated the Knicks center for taking advantage of a lack of versatile centers in the league and wrote:

“He’s only a top 5 big man because there’s not too many options right now , in reality this dude is a**”

One more user made fun of KAT and wrote:

Seasons almost over and you haven’t figured it out yet.”

Another Knicks fan did not take lightly to his statement and wrote:

“Bro, are you deada**?? Self-proclaimed best shooter of all time and had 1 shot at halftime yesterday. Brother, if you don’t have the NY grit in you, then please see your way out. Thank you, NEXT!!”

However, some even pointed out that Towns’ production has suffered due to a lack of support from head coach Mike Brown. A user wrote:

“The coach and the captain are not doing enough to help increase KAT’s efficiency. It’s infuriating! And it limits their ability to go all the way.”

Karl-Anthony Towns was also regularly featured in the trade talks during the mid-season trade period. However, the team decided to stay put with the center for the season.

Karl-Anthony Towns scores double-double in the loss to OKC Thunder

The Knicks faced the Western Conference’s top seed, the OKC Thunder, in their inter-conference matchup. While Jalen Brunson led the scoring with 34 points and five assists, Karl-Anthony Towns scored a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. The Knicks lost the game, 100-113. He leads the franchise in rebounds per game.

Towns’ statement is bound to worry fans and team management as the Knicks prepare for the playoffs. Last season, they faced a defeat to the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals and will look to clear the hurdle this season.
