Corey Heim will race part of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series schedule with 23XI Racing, and he is upbeat about the chance. The team announced a 12-race slate for the 23-year-old on Friday, February 6.
Heim, who dominated the Truck Series after winning 12 of 25 races and taking the championship last year, has not secured a full-time ride for this season. He will split time between trucks and Cup cars. The Georgia native will race selected Truck races with TRICON Garage with 23XI’s open entry in a dozen Cup races starting with the season-opening Daytona 500.
He will continue to compete in the No. 67 team with his previous crew chief, Bootie Barker.
“12 opportunities this year with 23XI Racing, can’t wait to get started! First stop, [Daytona],”Corey Heim wrote on X.
The reigning Craftsman Truck Series champion will also run Kansas (spring), Texas Motor Speedway, both Charlotte events, Nashville, the new San Diego street race, the Chicago street race, Indianapolis, the fall Darlington date and Homestead. Heim called the program a major step in his development and said he wants to make the most of every opportunity.
“I’m fully committed to the approach that I am taking with the team. I look forward to more Cup races this year and the opportunity to grow and expand my race craft on and off the track,” Corey Heim said in a team release.
Heim will start the season with a Daytona 500 debut with sponsorship from Robinhood.
23XI Racing Taking ‘Long Term Approach’ for Development Driver Corey Heim
Corey Heim was without a full-time ride in any of NASCAR’s top three divisions this year despite one of the strongest Truck Series seasons in recent memory. He swept to the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series title with a record-setting win and performance that saw him lead a staggering number of laps and score consistent results all year long.
Heim, who is 23XI Racing’s first development driver, made four starts with the team in 2025. He logged a season-best sixth-place finish at Bristol.
Team co-owner and Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin also commented on 23XI Racing’s commitment to its long-term development plan.
‘We’re continuing to stick to our plan and taking a long term approach, while also remaining focused on what is collectively best for our organization and our partners as we look to continue being a competitive, winning organization each weekend,” Hamlin said.
Corey Heim will need to qualify his open No. 67 entry as the car does not carry a charter.
