Arkansas Razorbacks point guard Darius Acuff Jr. has been unstoppable this season. The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the most consistent and reliable scorers in college basketball this year.
He led the team throughout the season, and when the stakes became higher, he switched to another gear. Acuff Jr. continued his dream run in the NCAA Tournament second-round matchup against the High Point Panthers.
He dropped 36 points in 34 minutes, shooting 11 of 22 from the field, 3 of 6 from the three-point line, and 11 of 13 from the charity stripe. Acuff Jr. also added six assists, a rebound, and one steal to his tally.
It was business as usual for Acuff Jr. at Moda Center. In the SEC Tournament title game against the Vanderbilt Commodores, he dropped 30 points and 11 assists. In the first round NCAA Tournament matchup against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, he had 24 points, three rebounds, and seven assists.
Acuff Jr. is averaging 23 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game. His shooting percentages make his season stats even more impressive. He is shooting 48.6% from the field and 44.4% from the three-point line.
Tonight against High Point, Acuff Jr. was accompanied by Meleek Thomas, 19 points, Billy Richmond, 15 points, and Malique Ewin, 14 points. From the Panthers’ unit, guard Rob Martin scored 30 points, and Cam’Ron Fletcher came off the bench for 25 points.
After this win, the Razorbacks have advanced to the Sweet 16 round, and the Panthers’ tournament run has come to an end.
Darius Acuff Jr.’s Mock Draft
Jonathan Wasserman recently published his 2026 NBA Mock Draft, comprising 60 players. BYU’s AJ Dybantsa took the top spot, and Wasserman expects him to be picked by the Sacramento Kings in the upcoming NBA Draft.
He is followed by Duke’s Cameron Boozer, slated to join the Washington Wizards. Kansas’ Darryn Peterson, who had been the top contender for the No. 1 pick for months, received third place in the mock draft.
Wasserman believes Arkansas’ Darius Acuff Jr. will be the sixth pick in the draft and will potentially join the Atlanta Hawks.
“Consistent production and late-game execution have been major selling points to Acuff throughout the season. But he’s playing at an ever higher level lately, having just averaged 30.3 points and 7.7 assists during Arkansas’ SEC tournament run,” he wrote.
Acuff Jr.’s shotmaking, creativity, and burst and playmaking IQ as a lead guard will garner interest from several teams.
