Coach K Reveals Heartbreaking Reaction to Duke’s Last Second Loss to UConn

Former Duke Blue Devils coach Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski felt the heartbreak after his former team’s recent loss, as he talked about it during an interview.

On Sunday, March 29, coach Jon Scheyer’s Blue Devils lost 72-73 to coach Dan Hurley’s UConn Huskies in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament on neutral grounds, the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.

In a post by @BleacherReport on X/Twitter, a quote from Coach K’s recent appearance on the “Pat McAfee Show” was shared. Krzyzewski revealed he was heartbroken after the Durham, North Carolina-based program lost at the last possible second to the Huskies.

“It was heartbreaking…I Couldn’t fall asleep,” Krzyzewski was quoted as saying.

The Blue Devils lost to the Connecticut-based program by a game-winning three-pointer by Braylon Mullins with just 0.3 seconds left. Duke was leading by as much as 19 points at one point, but UConn pulled off the sixth-biggest comeback in March Madness history to pull off the victory. Coach Scheyer and company have been eliminated from the national postseason, with the Huskies advancing to the Final Four.

Coach K Has All The Empathy Towards The Duke Blue Devils Amid Tough Times

Another clip was posted on the aforementioned show’s official X/Twitter account, showing Coach K further talking about the Duke Blue Devils’ last-second loss to the UConn Huskies.

After talking about how he feels about it, Michael Krzyzewski said he has all the empathy towards the team, as what they are going through is tough to move on from.

“I felt like I was part of that. And then, you’re thinking about all of these individual kids and how you’re gonna take care of them, and just such great empathy for our guys. I mean, obviously I’m a Duke guy and, yeah, I have concern for them and still do because that’s a tough one to get over,” Krzyzewski said (0:25).
