Caleb Wilson is one of the brightest stars in this year’s freshman class, and he has given an amazing boost to Hubert Davis’ UNC. In 24 games this season, he has averaged 19.8 points with 9.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He has been a revelation for Davis. The North Carolina Tar Heels have a 22-6 overall record and a 10-5 record in the ACC.
There have been concerns over their conference record as they have lost some crucial battles. But Wilson has been involved in everything good for the Tar Heels. They did have a minor speed bump recently when Wilson fractured his hand, and the reports suggested that he would be unavailable indefinitely.
With March Madness just around the corner, Wilson’s injury was a big concern for UNC. Davis’ team just pulled off an impressive win over 24th-ranked Louisville. Pat Kelsey’s team fell short by just 3 points in a 77-74 end of a very close game. With just three games left before March Madness, Davis would be hoping for Caleb Wilson to return to full fitness. Well, it seems like his prayers have been answered.
UNC plays Virginia Tech next on February 28, and Clemson three days later. Their last game of the regular season is the age-old rivalry, Duke vs UNC. Reports suggest that Caleb Wilson (hand) of @UNC_Basketball is expected to be back for the Duke game on March 7, per Dave O’Brien of ESPN.
