Lincoln Riley’s USC received a big boost in its pursuit of offensive lineman Drew Fielder. The four-star OL, who is part of the 2027 class, has verbally committed to Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks, but it appears that Fielder might flip his commitment to potentially join the Trojans.
According to Rivals, Fielder had his second visit to USC on Saturday. There are also reportedly factors in the program that have garnered the prospect’s interest. Rivals reported that Fielder has been impressed with the team culture at USC, especially inside the offensive line room. The Anaheim (Calif.) Servite High School talent also reportedly loved his interactions with Riley.
Fielder had committed to Lanning’s Oregon on Feb. 1. However, he received an offer from USC on Feb. 24 and has visited the program twice in the past two weeks.
Fielder has a connection to USC. Per reports, his grandfather and great uncle played on the USC team that won the national championship in 1967. His father also attended the school.
It will be interesting to see whether Fielder follows in his family’s footsteps.
