The Colorado Buffaloes are hoping for a strong 2026 season after a disappointing 2025 season. Several Colorado football players participated in a group activity near what appears to be a beach to build chemistry and relax, possibly. This included sophomore quarterback Julian Lewis and inside linebacker Kylan Salter.
Over the weekend, the Colorado Buffaloes’ official Instagram page posted a series of photos from this group activity at the shore. It started with Lewis enjoying a bowl of delicacy while wearing a multicolored bunny hat. Salter was captured inside the water, giving a funny pose while being shirtless.
Other players like wide receiver Kam Perry, wide receiver Danny Scudero, inside receivers coach Rashad Davis, defensive back Naeten Mitchell, wide receiver Christian Ward, offensive lineman Demetrius Hunter, linebacker Bo LaPenna, wide receiver Joseph Williams, cornerback Preston Ashley, offensive lineman Jayvon McFadden, and many more were also captured.

Inside Julian Lewis’ Chances of Becoming Big 12 MVP
The Colorado Buffaloes managed to flip USC verbal commit Julian Lewis to their side. The four-star quarterback opted to redshirt his freshman season after limited opportunities in what was otherwise a disappointing season in Boulder.
However, going into the 2026 season, Lewis has a season’s worth of experience, and this new gain in wisdom should help him deliver a good season for Deion Sanders’ Colorado.
If he can deliver the kind of season Shedeur Sanders had not too long ago, the chances of him emerging as the MVP in the Big 12 conference are bright.
Among all the games in the Buffaloes’ 2026 schedule, three games could really decide if Lewis can deliver the Big 12 MVP.
The Week 3 game against the Northwestern Wildcats on the road is expected to be a pivotal one, even though it’s against a non-conference member. Northwestern had a top-25 defense from 2025, and they were successful in holding opposing teams to under 194 yards per game last season.
The Week 5 game against Texas Tech at home is just as important. Lewis will be favored to do well, especially after the Red Raiders lost All-American linebacker Jacob Rodriguez. However, though young, the Texas Tech defensive line is not a friendly one, with defensive tackle AJ Holmes returning and San Diego State transfer Trey White potentially taking over David Bailey’s old spot as edge rusher.
The Week 10 game against the Houston Cougars is where things could really shift for the better if Julian Lewis can deliver a win for the Buffaloes. The Cougars are in contention with Texas Tech to contend for the Big 12 championship, but Lewis and his group could really spoil those chances and make room for themselves.
